Product Introduction
Open cooling towers are heat dissipation devices powered by natural wind. Featuring an open-air design, they require no mechanical ventilation equipment. Air circulation is achieved through louvered windows surrounding the water distribution fill, enabling direct heat exchange between water and air. These towers are suitable for environments with stable annual average wind speeds and dry climates.
Per industry standards, open cooling towers must be equipped with specialized components such as mist eliminators and disinfectant injection ports, and undergo cleaning at least once annually.
Working Principle
The cooling process occurs in three stages:
1. Circulating water is atomized by spray nozzles into fine droplets, forming a uniform water film across the fill surface.
2. Natural wind drives airflow through louvered windows, initiating forced convective heat exchange with the water film.
3. The humid air, having absorbed heat through evaporation, is naturally discharged through the tower top. The cooled water returns to the sump for recirculation.
This process utilizes a dual mechanism of sensible and latent heat transfer, achieving optimal cooling efficiency in dry environments with stable wind speeds.
