The Turbine Axial Displacement Interrupter (also known as the Axial Displacement Protection Device) serves as the core safety protection component for detecting excessive axial displacement in turbine units. Installed near the turbine rotor thrust plate (or within the bearing housing), Its primary function is to continuously monitor the rotor's axial displacement. When displacement exceeds the safety threshold, it rapidly triggers an emergency shutdown signal, cutting off the steam supply to prevent axial collision between the rotor and stationary components such as cylinders and bulkheads (“cylinder impact”). This prevents catastrophic failures like blade fracture and cylinder wear, serving as a critical defense for the safety of the steam turbine's flow path.
