6. Dynamic Balancing of cenerator Rotors
6-1. On-site Dynamic Balancing of Generator Rotors
On-site dynamic balancing of generator rotors refers to the balancing process performed on the rotor itself within its bearings and housing, rather than on a balancing machine. In other words, when vibration levels exceed specifications at the operating site or during generator testing, dynamic balancing must be performed to improve operational vibration conditions—this constitutes on-site dynamic balancing. The purpose of on-site dynamic balancing is to ensure that mechanical vibrations caused by imbalance, shaft deflection, and forces acting on the bearings remain within permissible limits.
