The turbine rotor blade (also called the moving blade) is the core component for energy conversion in steam turbines. Its primary functions are:

1) Converting the thermal and kinetic energy of steam into mechanical work: High-temperature, high-pressure steam is accelerated through the nozzle and impacts the moving blade, driving the rotor to rotate and thereby generating mechanical energy to power equipment such as generators, pumps, or compressors.

2) In the reaction turbine, the moving blade not only receives the steam impact but also acts as a steam expansion channel in the reaction stage, utilizing the reaction force to perform further work.

3) Torque transmission: The steam force generates torque, which is then transferred to the external load via the impeller and main shaft.

Furthermore, the moving blades must meet the following engineering requirements to ensure safe and efficient operation:

1) withstand high centrifugal forces, steam loads, and complex excitation forces;

2) exhibit excellent creep resistance, corrosion resistance, and erosion resistance (especially in wet steam zones);

3) optimize aerodynamic design to reduce flow loss and improve stage efficiency.
