The main steam valve (quick shut-off valve) of the steam turbine is the core protection and isolation component of the steam system of the steam turbine. It is installed between the main steam pipe of the boiler and the steam turbine and is always in an open state. During operation, it is fully open without throttling. In emergency situations, it quickly cuts off the steam supply. Its reliability directly determines the startup, shutdown safety of the unit, and the emergency protection capability during accident conditions.

1) Emergency cut-off of steam to achieve overspeed protection.
2) Steam isolation during unit startup, shutdown, and normal shutdown.
3) Isolation for maintenance to ensure personnel safety.
4) Buffering against thermal shock.
