Structural Principles
MOOG servo valves primarily consist of a permanent magnet torque motor, nozzle-flap valve, spool, and valve sleeve. Input current drives the torque motor, causing the flap to shift and alter pressures on either side of the nozzle. This movement propels the spool, thereby regulating the flow direction and pressure of hydraulic fluid.
