Front bearing of thrust bearing is one of the key parts of steam turbine. Located at the front end of the high-pressure cylinder, and integrated with radial bearings.
1. Main Function:
1.1 It balance the axial thrust of the rotor and determine the dead point of expansion.
1.2 It bear all the weight and centrifugal force of the rotor, and determine the radial position of the rotor.
2.Structural design:
2.1 Thrust Pad: The main thrust pad bears the normal thrust, while the vice thrust pad bears the reverse thrust force. Thrust pads are normally made of cast steel and Babbitt alloy.
2.2 Lining Tile: It is upper and lower half structure. Inner lining bearing alloy(Babbitt alloy), and create an oil film through wedge-shaped gap.
3.Applicable equipment:
It is widely used in steam turbines, water turbines, and other related applications.
